Surveys

In the cover of the Digital Newspaper people can find a section of surveys. This part is divided by two:

- Different videos in which students, parents and teachers will have to vote some task; best movie, final trip and sport competition in the school. They have to complete this table:

1. First, they have to put their name and their email
2. Second, in the issue they have to specify the task that they are voting (sport competition, best movie or final trip)
3. Finally, they will write the chosen option

This message will be send to one of the components of the newspaper (one of the graphic artist). Then, the whole work team will have to count the votes and publish the different results in the newspaper.

- Also, we have done a questionary in order to evaluate the design, the quality of the contents of the different sections and the positive and negative aspects that people can find in the project.

Final objectives

 The final objectives for our Project are:

-To know the different parts of a newspaper

-To identify the types of languages used in this media

-To comprehend the organization of a newspaper

-To develop abilities either in composition or Graphic Communications
-To use ICT media as tools for the designing of the digital newspaper
-To encourage some strategies of reading and writing in the classroom
-To develop creativity
-To distinguish the most relevant information

-To make an effort to establish a link between the school and the community

-To respect values such as friendship and solidarity among the students

-To adapt to cooperation, communication, leadership and teamwork

Wix

Hi guys,

As we told before, we had some previous ideas about the creation of our digital newspaper as make it in Power Point or in Calameo. Finally we have decided to use Wix, a website to create website.

At the beginning we selected a template but it limited us a lot of our work because we could not add neither more sections nor more photographies needed to the digital newspaper.

Instead of changing the program whose working we know, we decided to search another template which allows us to add all the suitable elements in order to elaborate our project.

Moreover, another section that we have added is Surveys. In that part, there are some videos, which we did as a task in class, that children have to elaborate.

The aim of the videos is collect some options from different topics as sport, trip… in which children have to vote in the Forum as well as, another opinions and valuations about the final digital newspaper.

We have used the website http://es.wix.com/ in order to create our digital newspaper. This website offers a big variety of templates which help you to create your own Project.

We have organized the digital newspaper in six sections:

- Home

- School News

- WorldWide News

- Leisure Time

- Supporting Materials

- Puzzles

When you enter to our digital newspaper, you are going to access to Home Section, which is the principal one. It contains a brief index of the rest of the sections.

In the three first sections you will find different news and pictures related to them. However, in the others you will find materials that you can enjoy in your free time, such as recipes, puzzles or fables.

                                            

In order to access to the different sections, you have to click the name of each section in the top of the website.

First session of class in relation to the digital newspaper

Hey guys!

Today students of sixth grade (class A) had the presentation of the “Digital Newspaper Project”. First of all, the teacher presented the project through a power point explaining them everything:

-The objectives

-How long is going to take and in which classes they will realize the project

-How they will work (in different groups)

-Which digital tools they will have to use

-The different sections that the newspaper will have

-The evaluation

Then, students asked all their doubts, started the formation of the different groups and the teacher assigned each section to each group.

Next day they will began looking for information about their specific topic.

Application Edmodo

Hey guys,

Great news! We have been going through all the different sections and features of this platform called “Edmodo” and we have found it very useful in order to use it in our digital newspaper.

Edmodo is a free communication platform for education, a safety way to be in contact teacher and students in and out the classroom, and even parents will have access to it!

So with this app, children, parents and teachers will be able to collaborate each other. This means that they will use it in order to keep in touch about contents, assign homework, schedules, events etc. They will have the possibility to use this app in all their subjects but right now we will emphasises in the topic of the digital newspaper.

Children will put all the information that they are collecting in this platform, they could chat through it as well at the same time that teacher can check or say something about it, and parents could see all this work anytime.

In relation to the evaluation of this project, it will count the daily work in every session through the supervision of the teacher paying attention to the whole process, the quality and the variety of their work in each section as well as the active use of the platform.
